If the VP is an “attack dog,” Joe Biden is Barack Obama’s Irish Terrier.

Watching Biden take several bites out of his good friend Senator McCain today brought up the image of a dog snarling and shaking his head with a juicy bone in his teeth. It took only moments to see that as terrier behavior and Biden certainly has the right instincts for the job.

According to the American Kennel Club website, “It is of the utmost importance that the Irish Terrier show fire and animation. There is a heedless, reckless pluck about the Irish Terrier…” Biden’s ancestry is Irish and he even has the bushy eyebrows and long nose of an Irish Terrier. Perfect!

What Obama may not realize is that an Irish Terrier is no lap dog but is known for dominance, stubbornness, bossiness, barking and digging holes. Basically an Irish Terrier is a challenge and that is easily what Joe Biden will prove to be.
